Independent Denison MP Andrew Wilkie and Labor MP Julie Collins have called for the system to be put on hold following an uproar about inaccurate notices.

In a letter sent to Human Services Minister Alan Tudge, Ms Collins said people had lost faith in the system following the Government’s own estimates that at least “4000 honest people per week are being sent incorrect notices”.

She called on Mr Tudge to “suspend this system until such time as it can be amended to treat those who have received Centrelink assistance with fairness and dignity”.
