having a letter saying I owe over $4500 was a massive shock. I have spoke to centrelink officers a few times now and it hasn't got any clearer and trying to find payslips from four different employers from 5 years ago is also difficult. Centrelink want me to start paying money and set up a direct debit arrangement or it will be passed on to a debt recovery agency and adding a further 9% to the $4612.96 I don't even owe them. I don't know what to do it all just getting to hard.
im sure they recovered some owing money but could have been handled better and maybe using better systems. They could also give us further information like what I reported to them and the dates etc instead I have to fill out more forms and wait another 30 plus days through a FOI service that should be online instead of printing and emailing... smartforms are not that hard.. but then we are talking about centrelink and mygov nothing has ever been simple. I am just pissed off
