This has been going on so long, and I'm at the end of my tether with it. There was overpayment debt from 2015-2016 that went to the AAT, I lost and I cannot believe that they did not even take into consideration the underpayment of $1200 from 2016-2017. Stating that it was a different matter and Centrelink had not provided any information to them about it (how convenient for you centrelink). In the AAT's written decision they quoted " In RE Taylor and Secretary Department of Families, Housing, Community Serviced and Indigenous Affairs [2009] AATA 264 it was said: As has been pointed out in other cases, the Commonwealth's social security budget is finite. Every dollar provided as a result of the exercise of "special circumstances" discretion must be recognised as a dollar no longer available to those remaining members of the community who rely on the public purse." Clearly that principle is not actually applied or they would have offset the two amounts (and would still owe me money). What a joke.
They are now demanding a minimum $30 per week payment arrangement which I cannot afford. My job ends and I have to also move in a couple of months and am desperately trying to save a bond, and the move, as I do not have a car. I have about $20 so far, and they really don't give a shit at all. This is awful, the stress I have experienced is massive, ongoing and makes me feel only despair for my future. I don't want to live like this, and this greedy uncaring Government is ruining my life. Honestly, if I didn't have my dog I would just end it all.
Pissed off, betrayed, scammed, angry, upset, highly stressed, physically sick to my stomach with the disgraceful way I have been treated.
What Centrelink is doing to innocent people who already live below the poverty line is beyond low. I am so appalled at this.
