Centrelink falsely believes that I have income other than Austudy. I can only conclude that its belief the result of bad data matching because I have no income other than Centrelink. Since Sep 2016 I have been trying to resolve the matter by writing to Centrelink and delivering the letters to the local office or uploading them. Centrelink has never responded, despite local staff saying they have emailed the assessor to contact me. My rent is more than I receive from Centrelink, and my savings are now very low. This causes me great anxiety and intolerable financial and accommodation stress. I am very depressed, which is interfering with my studies.
I think Paul Shetler is right. If it were a private entity, Centrelink would rightly be shut down. The Government has forgotten that it is the SERVANT of the people, and that it has Ministers for Human SERVICES and for Social SECURITY. I see no evidence of its willingness to SERVE the people or to ensure that the vulnerable have SECURITY. The very opposite is demonstrated by this Centrelink situation and the behaviour of Sussan Ley and other politicians who show so much self-interest and blatant disregard of the people.
My primary feeling, beyond my personal despair, is outrage about the way that the Government is handling Human Services and Social Security.
