Stressed to no end knowing that I hadn't done anything wrong.
I had been made redundant from my job in January 2014 and was unemployed.
I went to centre link in February and applied for benefits. Yes it took me a month to get the guts up to walk into one of their office and ask for a hand out.
It so happens that in the May i was re employed by a company i had been working for in the July of 2013.
I had completed one assignment in 2013 and was re-employed by the same company on a different assignment in 2014, which for the financial year provided a group certificate for the period 1.7.13 to 30.6.14
Centrelink assumed i had worked the entire year with that company and had claimed benefits i was not entitled to.
What they didn't have from the ATO was the group certificate that showed my employment with a different company ending 2014 which showed them i was actually unemployed from that date, January 2014.
Until i got to speak to a HUMAN, the computer declined everything i had put in to prove i wasnt defrauding the system.
The fact that you can only submit information on line and it comes back incorrect shows that if we employed HUMANS - PEOPLE WHO NEED A JOB, maybe this unbelievable situation wouldn't have happened.
If the ATO had provided the correct information in the first place, i WOULD NOT have had to go through this at all.
To be honest, i feel like suing them for the stress that they caused.
