Centerlink has sent me a letter saying that i owe them money. This came as a surprise, has caused me alot of distress. Being a low income earner i am already finding it hard to manage my week to week living. On top of this getting into contact with centerlink is probably the most stressful task. They really torture you for the money you desperately need at the time and long after in this case. I have been working for the past 4 years without any need of centerlink but thats not enough to get away from the trauma of centerlink. Any call you make you can expect to wait up to 1 hour just to speak to someone and you better hope your in the right department. Then comes there ridiculous demands of paper work to provide them after all these years. Further complicating the matter is the several different jobs i have gone through in the time period. Some of those companies are now closed down and getting the working times is impossible.
I cannot believe the government would stoop this low to harass the poorest people of its nation to squeeze a measly buck or two. The government has intentionally placed policies and procedures to make the most vulnerable of this nation a prisoner of time.
