Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

Long story short.
Received a debt letter for 9k as they over paid me SINCE 2013. Told them the review it and I won. Got that number reduced to 5k and currently paying $100 back a week for it because that's what their "minimal requirement" is...so they say.
That process alone, took over a year of long phone calls, anxiety and stress.
Just recently, I've received another letter saying my income has been incorrect and I need to provide more bank statements.
Here we go again. I have already done this before, already organised a payment at which I am repaying and I don't have time to call during the day because I work full-time.

It saddens me that I will be further delayed to get a loan on a house due to the significant cost of what I owe the government for a mistake that an ignorant 16 year old me didn't know about due to their lack of care and teaching for payments back in the day.

I would have rather suffered without a youth allowance from them than have it.

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

I'll forever see innocent uni students as a perfect bag of money to centrelink and for the ironic name of human services, they sure know how to make you not feel human.
