As a newly divorced single mother unable to find work, went back to uni at age 45 to do nursing so I could support my family and not rely on Centrelink. Worked casual nursing shifts and diligently reported every dollar I earned so they could take 50c in the dollar out of the measly $550 a fortnight. Now out of the blue allegedly I “misdeclared” my income. Have provided all bank statements and payslips 5 months ago and this is their result!! Absolutely fuming!!! I’m an honest person who slugged my guts out to get ahead for myself and this!!! Just wait Centrelink my excel spreadsheet is just waiting for your explanation of this “debt” and you’ll be sorry you picked on me! FOI request already sent.

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

Ridiculous waste of money to recoup meagre amounts, try going after the real welfare cheats who are collecting thousands each month and doing nothing to better themselves
